What's this? Meghan is updating her blog on a non weekend and non flex day? That's right my loyal readers, this week marks the momentous occasion of Meghan's Semester Break! 5 glorious days of no school work.

One topic for tonight is Don't Be a Litterbug! I was on my way to the gym tonight and I saw a little blue car stop at the stop sign and then the driver's side door opened a little bit. This not being normal driving procedure, I was curious and decided to watch and see what would happen next. A grown man, who looked to be about 45ish was dumping out his soda from his Wendy's bright yellow cup. I watched amazed because this is normally not something that people do. And then the creep just dropped the cup! Last time I checked, Wendy's did not use biodegradable drink cups! And honestly, who litters like that? You don't just throw your cup out of your car in the middle of the street! That angered me. That stupid bright yellow cup is just going to sit on the corner of the street for a long time, making the intersection look dirty and run down. The prisoners don't usually clean up the littler on the side streets of Canton! So DON'T BE A LITTERBUG! My god, we've come a long way with regards to taking care of the earth and this dingbat treats the streets as his own personal dumping ground. I hope he's at his low rent apartment right now, sucking down his last cigarette of the two packs he's smoked today in his dirty wife beater.... His body will decompose before that Wendy's cup is off the street!

Also, Gilmore Girls starts back up on the CW August 26. Keep an eye out for it. When last we left our Girls, Lorelei just told Luke if he couldn't marry her right then, than the marriage wouldn't happen - and then we see her waking up in Christopher's bed! And Rory's controversial boyfriend Logan had graduated and was on his way to London for a year to break his teeth on some British newspapers. So what will this next (and most likely final) season bring us? Will Lorelei end up with Luke or Christopher? (I think Christopher is her Dawson - and we all know that Joey ended up with Pacey!) Will Emily and Lorelei ever have a somewhat normal relationship? Will Lane be happy with her marriage to Slacker Zach? Will Paris stay with Shorty Doyle? Will Rory follow Logan to London (ha ha ha, maybe she can fly out of LOGAN to go visit LOGAN!) Will Sookie have another baby? Will Michele come out of the closet? So many things to ponder! As always, look to Mo's blog (www.wereinafight.blogspot.com) for commentary, as I will be in class on Tuesday nights. I will have my weekly reviews, however, they could be a day or two (or four or five) behind.

Sadly, Related did not make the cut. I like Related, but I think I was the only one who did.

So another weekend has come and gone. Good bye weekend!

It's been an uneventful weekend. I really have nothing to report. Everyday during the week I see something or think of something that I want to blog about, and then by the time I have time to actually sit down and write the blog my mind is blank. So here are a few thoughts bouncing in my head that I thought I might share with you all tonight.

1. I have a headache.

2. We replaced our drain doohicky thing today. I was cleaning the tub when I noticed that the water wasn't draining. I called Andrew in and we both stared at it for a few minutes, each of us poking it occasionally to see if it had magically fixed itself. It hadn't. So Andrew finally unscrewed it from the wall and poked at it again and we realized that the part that actually controlled the lever thing to the drain (and yes these are all technical descriptions) had completely corroded (coroded?) in half and was no longer attatched to the lever thing. Off we went to Home Depot! And we happily learned that the part we needed was less than $10. Andrew was Mr. Fix-It and replaced it. We are very proud of ourselves. So far this is the most technical repair we have made.

3. I saw Leah Burke last Wednesday. She has tripled in size since I last saw her about 10 months ago. She's walking and talking now - it's crazy. I also saw Jenn and Sean who walk and talk as well, but that wasn't as exciting as Leah :) Just kidding - I'm very excited that the Burkes are back! (if only the Browns were also in NE... :( But at least now I have to go out to Cali - it's good to have an excuse!)

4. Speaking of babies, I tried to buy Ziggy a present, but the waves were too big once we got out of the harbor. Just as well since I don't know yet if Ziggy is a girl baby or a boy baby. I'll try again next weekend.

5. What is going on with Dieon Branch. Seriously. The papers are calling it a ploy - should I believe that? I don't know what to believe. I'm afraid Tedy is out for good. His heart is 100% there, but his body is telling him to stop. Ugh, I don't know what to think. My boys are subjecting me to too much stress.

6. I want a Rav-4 or a Sante Fe. I can't have either one. But we need a bigger car. At the very lease I need ski racks on my car. I cannot wait to start skiing again. I love skiing. Almost as much as I love going to the beach.

7. I am going to Italy in June of 2009. Happy graduation to me.

8. I finally mailed in my paper work to the social security office. In a week or so I will legally have a hyphenated name. Too all of you who have negative things to say about that - SUCK IT

9. I still have a headache.

Till next time, have a pleasant tomorrow.

Where My Girls At?

Okay, that was a shamless way to post another wedding picture, I'll admit. The title of the blog was meant to be an intro into the blog, but I couldn't resist the temptation. I have a small obsession with my wedding pictures. sorry :)

Anyway, Where My Girls At?

I miss college this time of year, and it's only to get worse for the next month. You would think that three years after graduating I wouldn't miss it so much. It's really only when the summer begins to fade into fall that I do. Well, I always miss the college lifestyle, but that's a general "oh I wish I could still sleep past 6:30 in the morning and take a nap in the afternoon" type of missing it. Right now I seriously miss everything about it. I miss campus in the fall - it was so beautiful. I miss buying back to school stuff for the dorm/apartment. I miss that first week of classes where you told yourself "I am going to do ALL my reading and not put off writing papers till the last minute". I miss having my friends at the most 5 minutes away from me. I'm not saying I would give up my job, my marriage, my condo, my freedom, to go back to college (though I would drop out of grad school in a HEARTBEAT) but I just miss the general excitement of the last August, early September going back to college feeling. When Andrew lived in Manch I would try to get to campus a few times in the fall and walk the trails behind the Monastary - the trees are so beautiful in the fall! Maybe I can convince him to go on a road trip with me this year. There always is the lure of fries and ranch!

So who's up for going to Alumni Weekend this year?

So it has been established that I do not have time during the week to update my blog. I do apologize about that. This week was especially hard, as I have had a horrendous cold/sore throat since Tuesday. For anyone who was in France with me, I was squeaking like I did in France. At least it was on one day, whereas in France it was a solid week.

Aaahh.... France. Good times. I wish I had traveled more in college, but I'm happy I at least went to France. And successfully drank an entire village's supply of Malibu (not by myself!)

I have no plans to travel anywhere anytime soon. Which is good, because flying on an airplane looks like it's about as much fun as poking needles into your eyes. Though honestly, I would rather wait around for three hours and not be able to bring on liquid onboard (though I do hope that planes won't be charging for water since you can't bring water with you anymore) than blow up.

We were throwing the idea around of going to Italy when I graduate from school, but that is so far away I can't even think about it now. It will take me 4 years, including summers to finish school. But I guess it's not that bad, plenty of people took 4 years to get through school. My mother did. It just sucks while actually doing it. And I take 2 classes a semester - you would think I could be done sooner. Although I do have strong hatred of UMass, it isn't one of those schools that has 7 weeks semesters. Oh no, regular semesters for us! That's like the one saving grace for me. I've read in countless US News and World Reports and other such magazines that companies do not like these "McMBA's" as they are called. One CEO was like "how can you possibly learn anything in 7 or ever 9 week semesters? I don't trust those MBA's". I am paraphrasing, but not by much. So although I hate UMass, although I hate the fact that I have three more years of school ahead of me, although I wish I had never started in the first place.... I can rest easy knowing I will not have a McMBA. Yay for me.

Citizen's bank stole $95 from me. I highly recommend if you use Citizens to no longer use them. As soon as I legally hyphenate my name (read - as soon as get off my ass and I mail my marriage license to the Social security office) we will be getting the fuck away from Citizens. This is not the first problem we have had with that bank, but it will be our last. I am kind of sad because I like the fun sparkly green debit cards. (heh heh heh...... that reminds me, in college before Katie had a debit card, she tried to convince me that "debit" was not a word!) But fun debit cards aside, they are a horrendous institution and they should all go to jail for stealing my money.

On Monday night, Andrew and I are going to meet with our photographer and pick out our album. Yay! This picture will be in it. Good for this picture. There will also be 39 others. As soon as I get some money, I will also print my own out.

That is all I have for now. Plus I am coughing and I must go find my cough drops.

I am a C!
I am a C-H!
I am a C-H-R-I-S-T-I-A-N!
And I have C-H-R-I-S-T-I-A-N-I-T-Y...... blah blah blah (see the things you learn at Catholic school?)

I was acused of being Val's Christian friend yesterday. While, yes, I am Val's friend, and very technically you could call me a Christian (ie I'm not NOT a Christian I guess) I resented this label. First of all, if I was so christian that I deserved that label why would I be going on a booze cruise? And since when is Christian a derogatorty statement? I was angered at this for a while, then I realized the slutty whore bitch who gave me that label is going nowhere in her life and she will one day be bagging my groceries at Stop and Shop. And I have no qualms about ripping SWB to shreds, as she was not Val's friend per se, she was Val's roommate's friend.

Moving on, we did go on the booze cruise and we had a fantastic time. I was cold the entire time so of course I had a sweatshirt on the second we pulled away from the dock (hmmm.... maybe the fact that I wasn't naked made me a Christian?) but I really had a great time. Lots of booze, friends, boats.... what more could a girl ask for?

Kudos to Val for planning the event. Even if it was her roommate who had the idea in the first place, kudos to Val.

We went to Coogan's afterwards (after I got my sausage I should say!) and while I was fascinated by people watching the entire time, Andrew wussed out on me and was a bit tired. I seriously could sit in bars like that the entire night and people watch. I love it. So good choice on the bar as well, to whoever picked it. There was some fantastic people watching.

So all in all, even though I hated leaving the beach and the pool, I had a great time. Good cookout at Val's before hand, fantastic time on the boat, copious amounts of alcohol, and some phenomenal people watching.

Friday, August 04, 2006

so it's the weekend again.

Wow, I suck at updating. I did have a better week though. Only 4 days of work and I got a phenomenal beach day in with Katie.

That is Old Silver Beach, in an undated photo. I don't know when this was taken or who took it, but I did not. Anyway, that's Old Silver. I picked up Katie at 7:30 (and yes, she was ready on time!) and off we went. I basked in the sun all day and Katie ejoyed the shade with the occasional venture in the sun. Surprisingly we both went in the water on more than one occasion. It was a flextastic flex day.

Tomorrow I am going on a booze cruise with the SAC crew - should be tons o fun. I'll have more to report on Sunday most likely.

Stay cool!
