I haven't seen temperatures in the negatives in a year or so - I'm sure they've reached below zero at night when I'm asleep, but the past few days, we've seen negative numbers during daylight hours. I've seen as cold as -6º and as warm as about 3º in the past 36 hours. I try not to complain too much about the cold weather since it's a fact of life in New England and I do enjoy having all 4 seasons, but enough is enough. Time for some temperatures that are not only positive integers, but also double digits. I'd be happy with 10 right now.
I have a gift certificate to Circuit City, and I need to spend it soon. Any ideas on what I should buy? I went today to get a DVD player (because we've been using the xBox 360 for the past 3 years) but they didn't really have anything. Their selection is only going to decrease, so I want to find something soon - before they sell out of everything except seasons of Saved By The Bell. Everything I want is well over the $90 I have to spend, so I'll take suggestions.
Andrew just put together his mother's webcam and we Skyped with his brother. Even though that's not new technology at all, I was still impressed with it. I think the Skype menu looks like AIM did back in the day, which amuses me somewhat. I'm still not sold on having a webcam of my own, but it was cool to play around with it.
okay, I'm beyond freezing, time to go get this fire going!

naptime!
Andrew and I both had today off and we were out all day running errands. When we got home around 4, we both fell into bed for a nap. I haven't napped in a long time - it felt so good. I think every day should have a naptime built into it. I would so much more productive after work if I could sleep for an hour or two after lunch.
We're off to Keene this weekend - where it's supposed to be 1 degree. That's right. One degree. I love New England, but there are times when Key West is calling me home.

5 dollar footlong
I don't like how the numbers on the field are outlined in orange at Dolphin Stadium. If someone could do something about that for me, that'd be fantastic.
It's been pretty cold this weekend, especially in Keene. Windchills have been in the single digits. Luckily the cold snap is going to end tomorrow and it's going back up to 40º. Which is where it is supposed to be in the middle of November!
I'm pretty excited that this is Thanksgiving week. My company gives the day after Thanksgiving as a holiday (we gave up Columbus Day or Veteran's Day - don't know which one- for it). So it's an automatic 4 day weekend/ 3 day work week. That's more exciting than Christmas week. Last year we had to work December 24th and 26th. Lame. This year our CEO gave us Dec 26th. Wasn't that nice of him.... I'm willing to bet that he didn't work the 26th last year, but the rest us had to. So yeah, Thanksgiving week is cool. Even if I have to write a paper this weekend. It's the last Thanksgiving at school.... I have to keep telling myself that.
How annoying is that 5 dollar foot long commercial?

lazy
Andrew's parents have a really nice TV. So we're sitting at his parents house (sans his parents) watching the Pats. And it makes me hate my own television. Too bad we cannot afford to upgrade our TV - that's so far down the list, we might never get to it.
Andrew was still a little sick this weekend, so it was another quiet couple of days for us. We're in Keene (obviously) and it was kind of nice just taking it easy. Next weekend we're installing a new toilet, vanity, sink, medicine cabinet and light fixture, so it will not be relaxing. (okay, so we're going to help Andrew's brother as he installs everything... but still, we won't be sitting on the couch)
In other news, today marks 8 years of us being together. Though our relationship 8 years ago was pretty different than it is today! 8 years is 30% of my life. Kind of strange to think about it like that.

yet another crazy weekend
I feel like my weekends fly by - probably because they are always so busy. This weekend we unfortunately had an unexpected wake and funeral to attend that took up Friday night and Saturday morning. Saturday afternoon I went up to Burlington with Jenn and Katie and we went shopping! I went to LL Bean to buy these boots
They are hella warm and will keep my toesies nice and warm apres skiing! And at BC football games. Basically there are two uses for these boots, which really don't justify the purchase. But I really really wanted them. And I spent lots of money at Sephora. All in all, a very exciting and expensive shopping trip for me. Then Andrew and I watched most of the Sox game at the Burkes' which was entertaining as always, though since I had to get up early to walk this morning, we left around 11, so we didn't see the loss. Oh well. This morning I was up early and walked the 5K raising money and breast cancer awareness. Next weekend we will be in Keene for the pumpkin party. Yipee skippy.
