To Kindle or not to Kindle, that is the question. I am anti-Kindles. And Nooks. And every other eReader that is out there. Is it E-Reader? or ereader? or Ereader? I don't know.
Here is my problem with the Kindle (I'm just going to use Kindle to mean all the e-readers, mainly because Kindle did the best job with branding their name, and also I don't feel like looking up how to spell Ereader). I don't buy my books.
I couldn't - there is no way I could buy them, I would be flat broke. I have to get them from the library. I do own a lot of books (more than a lot... stacks and stacks and boxes and boxes). But if I bought every book I read, I would have no place to live and no money left to pay the bills. Or buy more books. I read a lot. On average, I go to the library every 2 weeks and get at least 2 books out each time I go.
So what am I supposed to do with a Kindle? I can't borrow books for the Kindle, can I? Is there some giant Kindle library out there? Because if there is, I am all about it. However, I am reasonably sure there isn't, which means I would have to buy all my books. The Kindle does solve the space issue that comes with buying all my books, it doesn't solve the cost factor. How can I afford to buy so many books?
BUT.... they're kind of cool. I kind of want one, but I don't want to buy my books.
So what am I supposed to do??
And we're back to the beginning: to Kindle or not to Kindle.
Also, have you donated yet?

Here we go!
We've arrived (some of us had to be dragged kicking and screaming...) to yet another fall. And what does fall mean? It means October is almost here! And what does October mean? It means it's Breast Cancer Awareness Month! And what does that mean?
It means I am once again walking the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk!
Do you know anyone who had breast cancer?
Do you know anyone who lost their battle with breast cancer?
Do you know anyone who's had a friend or loved one deal with breast cancer?
Please donate if you can! I'll take anything you want to give. Here is my personal fund raising page. Tax deductible! The walk is October 3rd, so you have a few weeks! I'll remind you again!

when September ends
Where did September go? Between me going back to work, BG starting daycare, the bomb that was dropped on me two days after returning to work, a wedding and a weekend away, September was gone in the blink of an eye. The fact that today is October 4th is mind boggling to me (today is also the birthday of an Old Childhood Friend of mine. Happy Birthday Old Childhood Friend!)
Also hard for me to grasp is the sight of BG rolling over. She still won't do it with any type of regularity, but she can roll from front to back, and back halfway over to front. Last night I put her in her crib in the usual way, with head and feet facing the top and bottom of her bed. When I went in to check on her, she had squirmed her way over so she was laying across, from the two sides. (am I explaining that in any logical way? picture a twin bed, with your head at the headboard. Then lay across it so you are hanging off the sides. get it now?)
I did the Making Strides for Breast Cancer walk today. I didn't ask for any pledges because I am so poor that I can't donate to anyone else's walk. I gave myself a donation and that's going to have to cover everyone else. It all goes to the same cause anyway. The walk I do is Making Strides for Breast Cancer walk around the Charles River. If you don't know anyone else doing a walk this month to raise money for breast cancer research, you are more than welcome to donate to my walk. I can accept pledges for another week or so. I already walked though, don't think I am going to do it again!

Thank You Anonymous!
An anonymous person has pledged my walk for Breast Cancer! My mother has also pledged $25 (which I haven't posted to my page yet) and I will also pledge myself $25, bringing my total donation up to $75. Not bad seeing as I only started asking for money this past week. Thank you very much Anonymous!
I actually can see who anonymous is, but they show up on my link as anonymous, so I will keep his/her anonymity.
Thank You!!!

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer!
It's October, and we all know that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month! We also probably all know that breast cancer is the second leading cause of deaths for women, the first being heart disease. It's hard find a person whose life or family has not been touched by cancer. Both my family and Andrew's family have lost loved ones to cancer, though I am happy to say my grandmother did beat breast cancer. This year I am walking to help raise money for a cure for breast cancer. This Sunday is the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk in Boston and I'll be there walking until I finish! Please consider making a pledge to the cause. You can donate to my personal page here. Even if you only pledge $5, it's still $5 more to the cause of eliminating this killer. Do it for yourself, your wife, your mother, your grandmother, your aunts, your cousins, your friends, or your daughters. I know we all have budgets and money is tight, but any donation is appreciated!
