Today is September 14 - which means a year ago today was my last day of maternity leave. A year ago tomorrow was my first day back to work and a year ago Thursday was when they told me my job was moving 65 miles away. Then I went home and cried for 3 days.
This is not the work life I thought I was going to have when I went back to work last year. But I couldn't afford to stay home (still can't!) and I really had no other options. So I followed my job halfway across the state, gave up my flex time (which still makes me sad - I was SO looking forward to having a day with my baby every other week!), have put about 25,000 miles on my car in a year.
My life 365 years ago was completely different than I ever thought it would be.
