I went to my yearly Mass today for my grandfather's anniversary Mass. The man who was reading the intentions was going through them and said something to the effect of remembering our Jewish brothers and sisters as they celebrate Yom Kippur. Only he pronounced it Yum Kipper.


Really? One of the Jewish high Holy days, and you can't pronounce it? Yom Kip-pour. This is not a difficult thing to say. Please have enough respect for other cultures that you can pronounce their very holy days correctly.
